Patch 1.01 — Post-Launch Hotfix — The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu

July 21, 2026 Patch 1.01 for The Mound — FPS optimisation, server passwords, mouse wagon inventory, balance pass, Mi-Go fix, and crossplay friend finder on all platforms.

Patch 1.01 Shipped — July 21, 2026

ACE Team published Steam news Patch 1.01 — Post Launch Hotfixes, Balancing Pass + Crossplay Friend Finder on July 21, 2026—the first hotfix after the July 15 retail launch. The update targets optimisation, camera selection, bug fixes, balance, and crossplay lobby discovery raised during the first launch week.

If you played on the July 17 Open Beta branch, restart Steam or revert to the default branch so your build matches friends on console and retail PC. Enable auto-updates on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S before accepting contracts—version mismatches still block cross-play joins.

The official gameplay overview video above shows expedition pacing and sanity systems in retail—useful context for balance changes that affect jungle threat density and melee reach.

Key Changes

Performance — Improved performance profiles for PC and optimisation improvements for console versions. Pair with Best Settings and PC Graphics & DLSS after updating.

Server password — Hosts can set passwords so mixed-platform friends find private sessions in the server browser without broken invite flows. Details on Cross-Play.

Mouse wagon inventory — Organise items in your personal inventory with a mouse during ox-wagon interactions. See Extraction and Ox-Wagon. Controller inventory improvements follow in a later patch.

Saints at the ox wagon — Saints are no longer purchased at the woodshop; equip them for a smaller cost at the ox wagon before an expedition. Track known persistence bugs below before investing heavily.

Camera preconfig — First launch offers Cinematic versus Standard camera. Standard may reduce feelings of delayed interaction or motion sickness—also available in settings pre-patch.

Key bindings saved — PC control remaps persist between sessions per PC Keyboard & Mouse.

Balance Adjustments

Censer mission — Purple corruption zones updated; corruption areas are slower to kill players.

Creeping Canopy (spider) — Does fifty percent less damage. See Jungle Creatures.

Starting machete — Added to all mission starting gear so players are never stuck with knives only. See Melee Weapons.

General enemy damage difficulty tuned; stamina and run speed when tired slightly buffed; knives do slightly more damage; pole weapons have a bit more range; enemies take longer to spawn when the forest wakes up.

Bug Fixes and Misc

Fixed death-animation replication causing T-posing; fixed bleeding state not replicating to all clients; fixed players stuck on walls after climbing; fixed missing Game Saving icon; fixed motion blur slider; fixed Mi-Go enemy behavior so they search for players and appear reliably in sessions; fixed isolation fog crash; added far LODs where pop-in was visible; additional minor bug fixes.

Mi-Go now patrol and engage as intended—previously broken search AI made them rare in retail sessions. Treat them as active jungle threats again when planning noise discipline.

Known Issues — Next Patch

ACE Team lists two known issues targeted for a follow-up update: Saints disappearing after one expedition unless you restart the lobby; in-game microphones not always picked up correctly. Workarounds on Troubleshooting.

Roadmap items still outstanding: reliable cross-platform party invites and melee block-and-counterattack—see Upcoming Updates. ACE Team notes continued work on combat feel and threat-counter tools.

Open Beta Archive (July 17 Preview)

Before the public drop, ACE Team ran a PC Open Beta branch from July 17, 2026. Beta testers previewed optimisation, inventory QoL, and server passwords early. Cross-play was disabled on beta; revert to default after Patch 1.01 ships if you still opt into [OPEN BETA] via Steam Properties → Game Versions & Betas.

Domande frequenti

When did Patch 1.01 release?

July 21, 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S per ACE Team Steam news.

Do server passwords fix cross-platform invites?

Passwords help friends find hosts in the browser. Direct cross-platform party invites remain a separate fix on the roadmap.

Should I use Cinematic or Standard camera?

Try Standard if input feels laggy or motion sickness spikes—Cinematic is more filmic but can feel less responsive.

Why are Saints missing after extraction?

A known bug as of Patch 1.01—restart the lobby between expeditions until the next hotfix.

Did Creeping Canopy get nerfed?

Yes. Patch 1.01 reduces Creeping Canopy spider damage by fifty percent.
